  31.        This section lists the subsystems (and their sizes) of Cosmo
  32.        Player.

  34.        If you are installing this product for the first time, the
  35.        subsystems marked ``default'' are the ones that are
  36.        installed if you use the ``go'' menu item.  To install a
  37.        different set of subsystems, use the ``install,''
  38.        ``remove,'' ``keep,'' and ``step'' commands in _i_n_s_t to
  39.        customize the list of subsystems to be installed, then
  40.        select the ``go'' menu item.

  42.        Note:  The listed subsystem sizes are approximate. Refer to
  43.               the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for information

  72.        2.3  _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__M_e_t_h_o_d

  74.        All of the subsystems for Cosmo Player can be installed on
  75.        an active system.  However, after installing some patches,
  76.        you will be required to reboot your system.  Refer to the
  77.        _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete installation
  78.        instructions.

  80.        Note:  Make sure that you quit and restart Netscape after
  81.               you install Cosmo Player, or Netscape may crash, and
  82.               Netscape also may not recognize the new plugin.  If
  83.               Netscape still does not recognize Cosmo Player after
  84.               exiting all Netscape windows and restarting, double-
  85.               check that Netscape's MIME types are correctly
  86.               configured for VRML (Go to "Options > General
  87.               Preferences > Helpers").

  89.        Note:  You need to add /usr/CosmoPlayer/classes to your
  90.               CLASSPATH in order for the External Authoring
  91.               Interface support to work.  An example of doing this
  92.               would be to add the following lines to your .login

  99.               cosmoplayer.sw.japanese), you need to set your LANG
  100.               environment variable before running netscape in order
  101.               for VRML Text font rendering to render special
  102.               characters properly (e.g. Kanji).

  106.        Your workstation must be running at least release 5.3 of
  107.        IRIX in order to use this version of Cosmo Player.  You also
  108.        need to install Inventor 2.1.2, Netscape Navigator 2.0S or
  109.        later and the other subsystems listed below.
